JONDO is the brainchild of former tennis pro turned golf enthusiast, Michael De Jongh and seasoned optometrist, Pieter Naude. De Jongh is known for his expertise and love of sport, having reached the pinnacle of an illustrious professional career. Naude has honed the passion for his craft and is constantly pushing the envelope of optical enhancements. This fusion of passion and technical expertise is how amplifEYE technology was born. 

JONDO USA opened its doors in October of 2023 for business, headed by Johan Liebenberg, the Chief Executive Officer. In April 2024 a new General Manager, Morne Botha – a PGA  professional since 1999 – was appointed with the task to grow the brand in the United States.  The founding members from South Africa decided to tailor the lens technology, specifically for golf.

With its wide-open spaces and focus on visual acuity, even amateur golfers benefit greatly from amplifEYE technology’s high dynamic range (HDR) and contrast.

In 2018 the patented lens technology won an award for innovation in the optical industry. To date, it helps players of all skill levels to hit ‘em long and straight. JONDO sunglasses are worn by weekend warriors, all the way up to various World Top 100 PGA players.
